The Olfactory System and Essential Oils

When inhaling essential oils, it stimulates the olfactory system, the part of the brain connected to smell, including the nose and the brain. The effect of smell is extremely powerful on the central nervous system. It can invoke emotions and memories.

Different essential oils have different uses and effects.

  • Chamomile - healing, peace and relaxation.

  • Frankincense - calmness, grounding and inner wisdom.

  • Lemon Myrtle - compassion, vigor and endurance.

  • Ylang Ylang - sensuality, serenity and togetherness.

This is just an small example of the properties of the many essential oils that are available. Essential oils are a gift from Mother Nature. When storing your essential oils, store them in a cool dark place, out of sunlight, or ideally in an wooden essential oil box.
